You're Amethyst: The Sage

The Sage · Calm, intuitive and a little mysterious.

You are amethyst, quartz colored purple by traces of iron and a few million years of natural radiation. Ancient Greeks believed it kept the mind clear, and that is your gift: you stay level when everyone else is spinning out, and you notice things people think they are hiding.

You need quiet the way other people need company. You are the friend who gives advice that actually lands, because you listened to the whole story first. You are drawn to meaning over noise and depth over speed, and you would rather have three real conversations than thirty shallow ones.

Your strengths

  • Emotionally steady in a crisis
  • Reads people and rooms accurately
  • Thoughtful, considered decisions

Watch out for

  • Retreats when overwhelmed instead of asking for help
  • Overthinks small choices
  • Can seem aloof to new people

How to tell real Amethyst at a glance

  • Color: Purple, Violet, Deep Purple, Lavender. Look at a clean, dry surface in daylight. Color zoning, banding or spots are as diagnostic as the hue.
  • Luster: Vitreous. Fresh surfaces shine like glass; a dull surface usually means weathering, so chip or wet a corner.
  • Transparency: Transparent. Hold a thin edge up to a bright light and note whether light passes through.
  • Mohs hardness: 7. It scratches glass and a steel knife and cannot be scratched by a steel file.
