Zodiac stones vs birthstones
Birthstones follow the calendar; zodiac stones follow the Sun's position at your birth. A person born on March 25 has aquamarine as a March birthstone but diamond as an Aries stone. Neither list is more correct than the other: the modern birthstone list was written by jewelers in 1912, while zodiac tables come from Hebrew, Roman, Arabic and Hindu traditions that never fully agreed with each other.
