How to Identify Desert Rose
Desert Rose is usually tan, brown, and cream with a pearly luster and is translucent. It has a Mohs hardness of 2. A fingernail (Mohs 2.5) scratches it easily. Its streak is white. It is most often confused with Gypsum, Talc, and Pyrophyllite; the tests below separate them.
